Agilus is recruiting for a Compensation and Classification Specialist - 6 to 12 Month Contract in the Education Industry in Calgary, Alberta.
The Compensation and Classification Specialist leads the implementation of our client's Compensation & Classification project, focusing on creating a new job structure, managing change for adoption, and aligning compensation strategies with organizational goals.
How you will make an impact:
Lead and manage the strategic implementation of our clients Compensation & Classification project, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives
Design, develop, and maintain compensation resources including frameworks, policies, guides, tools, and job evaluation frameworks to support employees and leader
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, collective agreements, and internal policies while maintaining transparent and equitable job evaluation processes
Facilitate and manage a classification committee to ensure consistency, equity, and transparency in job evaluation and classification decisions
Collaborate across departments (Finance, Talent Management, Recruitment, HR Business Partners) to align compensation strategies and support successful implementation
Implement change management strategies to drive the adoption of new compensation structures, and manage communication and training efforts for stakeholders
Provide subject matter expertise in organizational redesigns and structural changes, analyzing the impact on compensation frameworks and driving strategic decision
Monitor compensation costs, data integrity, and reporting through forecasting, budgeting, KPIs, audits, and compliance with pay equity and other regulations
The successful candidate brings:
A post-secondary degree, preferably in human resources, business administration, finance, or a related field.
A minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior compensation and/or classification role is required
Completion of (or current enrollment in) CPHR, CCP, and/or CEBS designation is preferred.
Experience in developing and maintaining complex total rewards strategies and programs is a plus
Demonstrated expertise in designing and managing job structures, job evaluation frameworks, and developing job descriptions
Prior experience in a unionized environment would be an asset
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to engage with executives and leaders
Proficient in MS Office, with a strong emphasis on Excel.
Total rewards:
$45.00 - $50.00 hourly
Hybrid work model - 3 days in office, 2 days work from home
Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm, or 9am-5pm
Must be able to fulfill the contract - 6 to 12 months
