Position Overview

The Health Services Recruiter is responsible for managing the full recruitment cycle, from sourcing and interviewing candidates to coordinating offers and onboarding. This role requires exceptional communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to build strong relationships with candidates and hiring managers.

The Health Services Recruiter works with internal and external stakeholders to understand customer requirements and efficiently fill positions and build teams for both on-going contracts and new business opportunities. They play a key role in ensuring that Calian continues to attract and retain highly qualified healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, job requirements and desired candidate qualifications for both new business and on-going contracts
  • Participate in proposal strategy meetings, kick-off meetings and requirements meetings for assigned bid development efforts
  • Develop tailored recruitment strategies to effectively attract and hire top talent, and develop advertising strategies to target and source candidate pools
  • Create compelling job postings on appropriate platforms to attract a diverse pool of candidates
  • Identify and source qualified healthcare professionals through various channels, including social media, job boards, professional networks and employee referrals
  • Conduct initial phone screens, interviews and reference checks to assess and evaluate candidates’ qualifications, experience and cultural fit, ensuring they meet the required job specifications and align with Calian’s values and goals
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews between candidates and hiring managers
  • Facilitate the offer process by presenting and negotiating employment terms (including compensation) and act as a liaison between candidates and hiring managers to ensure a smooth and positive experience to secure successful hires
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, salary benchmarks and best practices in healthcare recruitment to continuously improve the recruitment process
  • Continually network with candidates, build relationships and leverage connections to build relevant talent pools
  • Represent Calian at conferences, career fairs and networking functions to develop relationships with potential candidates and industry partners
  • In partnership with contract management personnel, visit customer sites to gain a better understanding of working environments to enhance knowledge for future requirements
  • Take responsibility for meeting divisional revenue and gross margin objectives by driving successful recruitment strategies and ensuring the hiring of high-quality candidates that contribute to overall business growth
  • Participate in recruiting process improvement projects as required
  • Demonstrate responsibility for improving their own performance and the way their job is carried out as well as contribute to group improvement initiatives

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of demonstrated recruiting success in a relevant environment. In some instances, candidates with demonstrated business background may be considered.
  • Post-secondary education in a healthcare preferred
  • Strong understanding of the healthcare sector and experience recruiting for a variety of healthcare roles would be an asset
  • Bilingualism French/English required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with candidates and internal/external stakeholders
  • Proficiency in using applicant tracking systems (ATS) and other recruitment tools (i.e. LinkedIn, Indeed, etc.)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
