What does a Security Guard for The RCMP do?

  • Ensure the protection of people, assets, and property 

  • Point of contact with authorities and emergency services 

  • Monitor detainees

  • Complete administrative functions
  • Conduct preventive surveillance rounds  

Qualifications to become a Security Guard for the RCMP detachment

  • Available to work flexible hours (days, evenings, nights, weekdays, weekends)
  • Policing or corrections background or 3+ years as a high-profile security officer
  • First Aid CPR Level C (issued by Red Cross, St John Ambulance, Heart and Stroke)
  • Permanent Canadian resident for a minimum of 5 years.
  • Have a clear criminal background
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Federal Reliability Security Clearance status
  • Be eligible to work in Canada 
  • Bilingual is an asset (as needed per location)
