06/29/2025Address:33 Dundas Street WestTechnologyCustomer Connect is a large banking application that is heavily used by branches, customer contact centers, mortgage specialists, product operations, and miscellaneous users at BMO. It is complex and critical to our Lines of Business.
The Technical Platform Lead in Channels Technology is responsible for managing the Branch Channel Solutions's platform architecture and application design.
We are looking for a seasoned technology leader to support Customer Connect with major priorities which include, building a platform roadmap following the strategic architecture and design, providing technical direction to ensure optimal solutions being implemented through ongoing initiatives, and maintain alignment with the Lines of Business (LOBs) strategies.
Experience:
- Experience in leading multiple, concurrent, large-scale releases and teams covering design, development, implementation, and support.
- Interacts with key business & technology stakeholders to define, analyze, and deliver requirements that reflect the needs of both the business and end customers.
- Translates user needs into technical specifications by understanding, conceptualizing, and facilitating technical requirements from the user.
- Analyzes, develops, tests, and implements new software programs, and documentation of entire software development life cycle execution.
- Performs preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and fault rectification of system and core software components.
- Ensures that code/configurations adhere to the security, logging, error handling, and performance standards and non-functional requirements.
- Evaluate new technologies for fit with the program/system/eco-system and the associated upstream and downstream impacts on process, data, and risk.
- Follows release management processes and standards, and applies version controls.
- Assists in interpreting and documentation of client requirements.
- Operates at a group/enterprise-wide level and serves as a specialist resource to senior leaders and stakeholders.
- Applies expertise and thinks creatively to address unique or ambiguous situations and to find solutions to problems that can be complex and non-routine.
- Implements changes in response to shifting trends.
- Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.
Strong knowledge and practical experience in:
- .NET
- C#
- Angular / Java
- Cloud (AWS/Azure)
- Microsoft development tools (Visual Studio, TFS)
- Desktop application development including peripheral integration
- Services-oriented architecture (SOA)
- Web service protocols (JSON, SOAP)
- Secure coding practices
- Agile/iterative development methodologies
- Continuous development processes and tooling (e.g. Git, Bamboo, Maven)
Requirements:
- Proven ability to learn new businesses and technologies
- Strong process understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Strong architectural knowledge of the technology ecosystem
- Solid experience developing multi-tier technology solutions
- Good collaboration and multi-tasking capabilities
- Strong leadership, relationship and communication skills
- Knowledge of software development practices, concepts, and technology
- Verbal & written communication skills - In-depth / Expert.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills - In-depth / Expert.
- Influence skills - In-depth / Expert.
- University degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience
$92,400.00 - $171,600.00SalariedThe above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked.
