We are working with a Federal Government client seeking a Project Manager to join their team on a multi-year contract. The work will be conducted on site, and in Ottawa. 

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. The Contractor must deliver verbal status reports as requested and at various meetings used to provide status, issues, and risk information within CSE;
  2. The project and sub-project documents to be delivered by the Contractor 
  3. Project management coordination of activities and tasks related to the project mentioned above;
  4. Risk Management. Identification, tracking, and communication of issues and risks that may arise and the coordination of risk responses;
  5. Preparation of regular and ad-hoc project communications (i.e. both written and verbal) 
  6. Provide project management knowledge transfer to staff; and
  7. Identify to the Technical Authority potential project management process improvements as part of the group’s continuous process improvement

Qualifications and Skills

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Project Management, Public Administration, Commerce, or Engineering with 5+ years as a Project Manager in the last 10 years, OR a diploma in related fields with 5+ years as a Project Manager, OR a current PMP or CAPM certification (provide degree/certification details)

  2. Experience managing multiple Government of Canada IT projects with cross-functional teams of 10+ members

  3. 2+ years in the last 5 years handling at least 3 project planning activities like Project Charters, Work Breakdown Structures, cost estimation, scheduling, management plans, or risk tracking 

  4. 2+ years in the last 5 years handling at least 3 project execution and tracking activities such as Project Charters, Work Breakdown Structures, cost estimation, scheduling, management plans, or risk tracking

  5. 5+ years in the last 10 years using MS Project 2016 or later for planning, scheduling, reporting, and tracking project tasks and resources
