Agilus is recruiting for a Operations Lead in the Oil and Gas Sector in Calgary, Alberta.
The Operations Lead provides leadership, direction, and operational guidance to Operations & Logistics (O&L) Products to ensure safe, cost-effective and timely execution and commissioning of a subset of high profile economic, renewable fuels and regulatory compliance projects across 17 O&L Products sites (16 Canadian Terminals and the Ethanol Plant) in 5 provinces.
A typical day:
• Develop and implement Operations requirements across all stages of the project life cycle
• Provide coordination, direction, scope management, stewardship to internal / external employees / contractors / stakeholders
• As part of the project integrated team, provide Operational inputs, develop project plans, and ensure effective collaboration with Development, Execution, Completions & Commissioning and Technical team throughout the project life cycle
• Ensure all Operational changes are documented and approved through a robust management of change (MOC) process
• Support process hazard analysis (PHA’s), technical reviews, pre-startup safety reviews (PSSR’s), maintainability reviews, system turnovers and start-up
• Provide Operational input design and model reviews
• Optimizes the operations strategy across their portfolio of projects, including, but not limited to, defining optimal contracting strategies, operating procedures and streamlining system turnover and start-up
Successful candidates will have:
• 10+ years of experience in Operations within a refinery, upgrading facility or processing plant
• Working knowledge of stage gated project management processes will be an advantage • Experience on multiple project phases (ie. DBM, FEED, Detailed Engineering, and Commissioning & Start-Up
• Proficiency in commissioning, operating and maintenance plans and procedures
• Good understanding of midstream business and functions that support it
• Turnaround and Equipment Life Cycle
• Ability to anticipate potential problems and check for out-of-the-ordinary conditions, as well as having a strong sense of accountability
