Position Overview

Calian is seeking a Senior Military Occupational Instructor (MOC) to join our team at CFB Borden, ON. This full-time position will support the upcoming Common Course serial from February 20th, 2025, to April 10th, 2025. The successful candidate will provide expert instruction in army logistics and vehicle operations, using hands-on field experience and specialized knowledge to enhance training effectiveness. The role also involves curriculum development, student assessments, and safety support in training environments.

Responsibilities

Tasks may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Providing instruction as indicated in the TA in the knowledge and/or skills needed to effectively perform duties of a CF member;
  • Using word processing, spreadsheet, and database software (MS Office Suite);
  • Preparing lesson plans;
  • Assisting other instructors in training activities requiring more than one instructor;
  • Counselling students on their progress;
  • Maintaining and updating student files;
  • Performing student assessments;
  • Assisting DND by making recommendations and changes to the existing curriculum; and
  • Providing safety support by administering immediate first aid to students and unit personnel in the event of emergency

Qualifications

  • Instructor Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in delivering logistics training, covering both generic and specialized courses, with a focus on army logistics and vehicle operations, including officer development and land-based logistics.
  • Hands-On Field Expertise: At least 5 years of practical experience in army logistics and vehicle operations, with a strong emphasis on land-based operations. This experience should focus on applying real-world knowledge to enhance operational efficiency and contribute to the effective execution of logistics missions.
  • Safety & First Aid Certification: Must possess a valid Standard First Aid certification and demonstrate a commitment to maintaining safety standards in all training environments.

Additional Requirements

  • Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some of the area and overnight travel may be expected
  • You will be able to obtain a Government Security Clearance at the Reliability level
