About This Role
CAE is seeking an experienced Instructional Systems Designer to join our team. As an ISD, you will be joining a group of dedicated training professionals who develop interactive eLearning content for Defense and Security clients around the globe.
At CAE, the role of ISD is multifaceted and central to our training development approach. As a leader, you will oversee the development of instructional content, which will include collaborating with subject matter experts, multimedia developers, content development specialists, and programmers. You will follow defined development standards and work with the team to ensure they are being adhered to. You will also interface with our strategic partners and provide schedule and progress updates to project leads. There may also be opportunities to conduct analyses and training design activities as part of the role.
Responsibilities
The Instructional Systems Designer will be responsible for the following:
Following a cyclical Analyses, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation processes
Provide leadership to a team of CAE and subcontractor employees by overseeing the training development process of courses, including tracking team progress, and organizing and assigning work tasks
Tracking and adherence to delivery schedules
Escalating scope and schedule issues
Reporting metrics and project status updates to project leads
Being the main conduit between the development team and management
Reviewing training content to ensure adherence to development standards and providing feedback to development team
Development and management of design standards, writing standards, media standards

Requirements
MANDATORY FOR ALL: Must have or be able to attain EHC/Secret Security & ITAR & CG
Undergraduate degree in an Education-related field with relevant experience. Post-graduate certificate or degree in Education, Adult Education, or Instructional Design is an asset.
Fluent English speaker. Bilingualism (English/French) an asset
Experience in leading a small team considered an asset
5+ years of computer-based training development or Instructional Design experience, though other experience may be considered. Experience with previous Royal Canadian Air Force training programs considered an asset.
