Seeking a Leasing Manager for a Hybrid role in Toronto, Calgary or Vancouver that will report to the Director of Leasing (Western Canadian and Prairies Central Region). This person will be responsible for retail and office leasing transactions, working directly with Corporate Real Estate, Landlord and Broker representatives to secure new leases and negotiate lease renewals in strategic retail locations for the bank.
Strategic Advisory:
Acts as a trusted advisor to the Retail Banking team.
Responsible for procuring new development projects and/or sites within portfolio based on business needs.
Create leasing plans and gather market data to assist in strategic decisioning.
Responsible for coordination with internal stakeholders (property management, project managers and design managers as well as external stakeholders such as legal) as it relates to each deal
Assists in the development of strategic plans with Retail team.
Works with retail team to analyze demographic data and information to provide insights and recommendations for location strategy.
External Relationship Management:
Create and maintain Landlord and broker relationships in the market place
Networking with industry contacts to gather and identify competitive insights and best practices.
Identifies emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making.
Negotiations:
Breaks down strategic problems, and analyses data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
Uses external relationships to assess market comparable for deals being negotiated, creating leverage with landlords.
Drive value for the enterprise by negotiating favourable leases and controlling the cost increase of the bank's portfolio.
Internal Statkeholder Management:
Partnership with Physical Channels leaders to execute business strategy by securing strategic locations
Acts as a relationship manager on assigned projects / programs and ensures alignment to overall enterprise and group goals.
Develops solutions and makes recommendations based on an understanding of the business strategy and stakeholder needs.
Participates in project/program design and provides advice and subject matter expertise to achieve required business results.
Conducts analysis to inform strategic recommendations and considers the “big picture” when assessing whether or not a course of action is advisable to achieve group and enterprise goals.
Identifies enablers and key issues prior to and during implementation to raise issues with stakeholders and offer solutions that resolve issues or risks jeopardizing delivery.
Reporting and Analytics:
Manages databases and provides support for analysis, forecasting and/or data visualization, to help drive better decision making on strategic leasing opportunities.
Provide regular provide pipeline and milestone updates to key stakeholders and executive team
Monitors and tracks performance, and addresses any issues.
Qualifications:
Typically between 5 - 7 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with working with lease agreements and other legal documentation
Willingness to take initiative and ownership of tasks
Knowledge of process and/or project management.
Proven ability to work in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines
Strong communication, teamwork and analytical skills.
