Our client, a prominent player in the transportation industry, is seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner with a strong focus on HRIS management and Employee Relations. This role will primarily support the development, maintenance, and optimization of HR systems, along with fostering positive employee relations across the organization. Job Summary:
The HR Business Partner will play a critical role in managing and improving the company's HRIS while also being a key player in addressing employee relations concerns. This position is pivotal in ensuring HR initiatives and systems are aligned with business goals, providing strategic HR support, and enhancing the employee experience across the company.


Key Responsibilities:

  • HRIS Management & System Improvement:

    • Lead the functional development and improvement of the HRIS (ADP Workforce Now).
    • Collaborate with various departments to identify opportunities for HR system enhancements and improvements.
    • Prepare and provide regular HR reports and dashboards to leadership, using HRIS data.
    • Create ad-hoc reports to support decision-making and business needs.
  • Employee Relations & Organizational Strategy:

    • Serve as the first point of contact for employee relations concerns, escalating issues to the CHRO when necessary.
    • Play a key role in shaping an employee relations strategy that fosters trust, accountability, and engagement.
    • Manage the performance management process, providing guidance and support to leaders and employees.
    • Conduct investigations as required, ensuring timely documentation and resolution.
    • Meet regularly with leadership to assess team needs and support organizational development.
  • Learning & Development:

    • Provide guidance on HR policies, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
    • Identify training needs and collaborate with training experts to implement new development programs.
    • Support training initiatives and evaluate their success in meeting business objectives.
  • Recruitment & Talent Management:

    • Assist with recruitment through cost-effective platforms such as LinkedIn, Indeed, and others.
    • Drive talent retention strategies, including development and performance management plans.
    • Work alongside the HR Manager and CHRO on recruitment and talent initiatives.
  • Additional Duties:

    • Provide ongoing support and take on additional HR-related tasks as required by the business.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education/Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources or a related field.
    • Must have at least 2+ years of experience working with ADP Workforce Now.
    • 2+ years of experience in employee relations within the transportation industry.
    • Working towards or holding formal HR accreditations (e.g., CHRP, CHRL) is an asset.
  • Skills:

    • Expertise in HRIS (specifically ADP Workforce Now) is a must.
    • Strong experience in employee relations, with the ability to manage complex issues.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
    • Ability to handle confidential information and maintain discretion.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
    • Resourceful, proactive, and adaptable to changing business needs.
    • Knowledgeable in employment laws and regulations (CLC, Provincial).
