Job Title: IT Security Specialist (Secret clearance level 2 required)
Location: Ottawa
Role Type: Permanent full-time position.
Salary: $88,000-$110,000.
Work Type: Hybrid 4 days per month in office.
Benefits: 3 weeks vacation, Christmas shut down, Pension, and Benefits.
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced IT Security Specialist with strong technical expertise in networking and exceptional documentation skills. The ideal candidate will manage and support IT security environments, conduct risk assessments, and produce comprehensive reports, including SAA documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and deploy IT security technologies, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection solutions.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, propose remediation actions, and integrate new technologies into existing IT infrastructure.
- Write detailed technical documentation and risk assessment reports, including SAA reports.
- Troubleshoot network issues using protocols like TCP/IP, VPN, LAN/WAN/VLAN, and tools such as packet tracing.
- Collaborate with teams to anticipate needs, articulate solutions, and ensure compliance with security standards.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 6 years in IT and 4 years in IT security roles.
- Proficiency with network security technologies, particularly Palo Alto Networks and Fortinet.
- Strong knowledge of network architecture, protocols, and encryption methods.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly in both written and verbal formats.
- Canadian citizenship or permanent residency with eligibility for Secret security clearance.
Additional Skills:
- Client service orientation, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of trends in IT security and aviation security screening technologies is an asset.
