Your Key Responsibilities

  • Assists with monitoring and calculation of production rates

  • Assists with monitoring compliance with and administering terms of operational constraints of the contract

  • Manage all paperwork and communication within the field office

  • Provides a leading role in monitoring compliance to commitments of and administering construction contract provisions regarding the Contractor's Quality Control Performance Measures

  • Checks and inspects construction activities, operations and work to ensure compliance with the contract documents, drawings, and specifications

  • Conducts site surveys, confirms scope of work, obtains relevant information, equipment and materials and maintains quality and payment records in a daily diary for the work completed

  • Compiles field/test data in a report form for review by the Contract Administrator

  • Liaise / Coordinate with service providers for specialized inspections and/or testing to ensure the tasks are completed per the terms or reference, specifications or agreement

  • Obtain video / photographic records as required

  • Record, review and address contractor questions and clarifications by reporting to the Contract Administrator for resolution if not already provided to the contractor

  • Attend site meetings and reconnaissance on-site

  • Able to handle multiple priorities without losing focus

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Familiar with field construction activities

  • Able to work on weekends, nights, shift work, additional hours as required

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to work well in a team environment

  • Proficiency with MS Office

  • Previous office administration experience working in a construction office setting an asset

  • A valid Ontario driver's license and access to a vehicle

  • Able to travel and work in the greater Ottawa and surrounding area

Education and Experience

A post-secondary diploma or degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology / Technician or equivalent

Minimum 2 years' experience in engineering/construction working on MTO projects

Prior experience as an Office Person on an MTO contract

Either registration as a as a Technician or Technologist with O.A.C.E.T.T. or Professional Engineer or Engineer-in-Training with PEO

Designation as determined by OACETT as a Road Construction Senior Inspector (RCSI) or Road Construction Contract Administration (RCCA)
