Your Opportunity

The successful performance of a project depends on appropriate planning and execution. Project controls is responsible for project metrics such as time, cost, and resources as well as project revenue and cash flow. This position encompasses the people, processes and tools used to plan, manage and mitigate cost and schedule issues and risks that may impact a project.

There is an opportunity in our Fredericton office for a highly motivated Project Planner/Scheduler & Controller. We seek an individual with demonstrated experience in project controls and/or coordination related work including knowledge of project management processes and project life cycles. The successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, is detail-oriented, has excellent computer software skills and enjoys working in a supportive team environment.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Understand the project life cycle and implement project controls processes and procedures as required

  • Understand and provide support to develop Work Breakdown Structures for project execution and monitoring

  • Setup, Plan, Prepare and maintain project and/or engineering schedules and cost control aspects from project initiation to close out

  • Collect information to support cost control reports to project managers

  • Collect information to support schedule updates for project managers

  • Analyze, evaluate and forecast based on progress and performance

  • Track cost and schedule performance against baselines and update baselines accordingly

  • Monitor project budgets and recommend and facilitate change management processes as required

  • Review and code 3rd party invoices for processing

  • Validate source data and ensure integrity of processes affecting project success such as project coding, budget allocation, A/R & A/P project related activity

  • Manage invoicing while ensuring compliance to project contractual terms and conditions

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with Project Managers

  • Perform thorough QA/QC on all deliverables.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills

  • Proven ability to work in a deadline driven environment, ability to prioritize and multi-task and manage client expectations

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficient in MS Office including MS Project

  • Proficient in Primavera P6 Planning and Scheduling is required

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering, Business, Finance or a related field.

  • 15 years of related work experience.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.
