Your Opportunity

Morrison Hershfield now Stantec's Integrated Engineering Design (IED) group provides integrated engineering solutions to institutional, industrial, residential and commercial clients with a focus on transit, telecom, waste management, higher education and food/beverage facilities that require reliable and cost effective infrastructure for both new and retrofit solutions. The combined skills of our engineers, technicians and support personnel with their diverse backgrounds in design and construction provide clients with a team recognized as leaders in the field.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and schedule the new tower construction

  • Coordinate subcontractors as required

  • Perform initial civil qualification reviews of potential new tower sites

  • Manage all aspects of new site build activities, including but not limited to, surveyors, tree clearing, geotechnical, contractor bid walks, contractor RFQ submissions, landlord interface and management, etc.

  • Interface with Stantec clients and provide regular progress updates

  • Work in locations throughout the Ontario and potentially Canada

  • Write reports from field observations

  • Construction management and supervision of subs and/or subcontractors

  • Work with Health and Safety manager to maintain and develop safety protocols

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Valid Ontario driver's licence and access to a vehicle

  • Willingness to travel for 25-50% of the time, as required

  • Must be safety conscious and be able to demonstrate a history of safety training

  • Willingness to work in a team environment focused on learning and development

  • Self-driven to perform tasks independently on site

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

Education and Experience

  • Technician or Technologist Diploma

  • Minimum 10 years experience in construction management of new telecommunication/broadcast tower

  • Construction management degree or diploma, and or construction management experience considered a plus

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
