Agilus is recruiting for a Manager, Assurance & Advisory in the Public Accounting Sector in Guelph or Elora, Ontario.
The Manager, Assurance and Advisor will lead and develop accounting teams, manage client relationships, and oversee high-quality deliverables. They will handle resource allocation to ensure successful client outcomes and collaborate with senior leaders on practice and business development. Additionally, the Manager fosters firm-wide collaboration, operational efficiency, and staff development.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Partners and Senior Managers to develop and implement accounting and tax strategies for clients
Review compilation, audit, and tax engagements to ensure compliance with professional and firm standards
Identify and resolve accounting, audit, and tax issues promptly, escalating when necessary to Senior Managers and Partners
Manage resource scheduling and delegate tasks to ensure proper skillsets are available to meet client needs
Maintain day-to-day client relationships, ensuring effective communication and expectation management
Oversee client engagement financials, including budgets, WIP, write-offs, billing, and collections
Enforce high standards for quality deliverables, ensuring client needs are met promptly
Provide leadership and mentorship to Senior Accountants, Junior Accountants, and Co-op students on engagements
The successful candidate brings:
Strong technical knowledge in accounting, assurance, and tax -experience in public practice accounting
CPA designation required
In-depth understanding of relevant professional standards, regulations, and corporate governance requirements
Proven project management skills, managing multiple engagements with competing deadlines
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Ability to develop and maintain trusted advisor relationships with clients
Strong leadership, mentoring, and team-building abilities with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
5+ years of accounting experience specializing in compliance and financial reporting, including at least 1 year in a managerial role
Total rewards:
$97000.00 - $115000.00 annually
Hybrid work model - 3 days in office
