Agilus is recruiting for a Senior Project Engineer in the Oil and Gas Sector in Calgary, Alberta.
The Senior Engineer is responsible to provide subject matter expertise in the development and management of Engineering technical governance standards to support the execution of engineering within the Projects organization. The Sr. Engineer is also responsible to represent EMO (Engineering Management Office) at various Business initiatives, facilitating training sessions, collaborating with various stakeholders, and mentoring peers
A typical day:
Establish governance for Engineering execution of Projects throughout all Company’s Business Units and across all regions (US and Canada)
Take ownership in the development and maintenance of engineering governance documents to establish a harmonized approach to project execution throughout all Business Units. Governance documents include, Procedures, Standards, Guides, Deliverable Templates, and much more
Constantly looks for streamlining engineering execution workflows, provides value opportunities to optimize processes and fit-for-purpose governance for project execution, and ways to bring consistency throughout all governance documents
Experienced working on various types (Liquids, Natural Gas, Renewables) and sizes (small and large) of projects
Demonstrate a good understanding of a Project lifecycle from concept to completion
Independently and actively represent team at various working sessions (workshops) or stakeholder reviews to brainstorming ideas for improvement or optimization of governance for project execution process workflows
Participate and conduct peer reviews on key engineering deliverables on active projects working along side other offices within the Projects Technical Management Office (PTMO) and the Projects Management Office (PMO) to ensure projects meets intent of the governance standards and utilizing templates effectively
Solid understanding of Engineering interfaces with Procurement, Contracts, Project management, Quality, Construction, Commissioning
Successful candidates will have:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical or other related Engineering field)
Minimum 10 years of Oil and Gas industry experience required
Demonstrated proficiency working with office computer applications such as Microsoft Office
Experience with Renewables energy projects an asset
Driver's Abstract Require - maybe require to visit job sites in Calgary or Edmonton
