On behalf of our public sector client, we are looking for a Database Analyst for a 12-month contract, with possible extension. This is a remote position, working in Canada.

Project Context
Our client is seeking a Database Analyst experienced in healthcare, data archiving, and retrieval, as well as emerging technology trends in data management. The selected candidate will lead an initiative to identify and implement a suitable solution for archiving legacy data.

Responsibilities

  • Extract data from various database systems and retrieve it in usable formats from archives.
  • Conduct data discovery and classification.
  • Develop strategies to address data inconsistency, redundancy, and integrity.
  • Ensure adherence to data governance best practices.
  • Collaborate with clinical users to gather requirements for custom data views and reports.
  • Design and model databases to meet project specifications.
  • Work with stakeholders to identify, analyze, and gather solution requirements.

Must-Have Skills and Experience

  • Strong background in healthcare industry
  • Proven experience (7+ years) as a Database Analyst
  • Expert knowledge of T-SQL and PL/SQL
  • Experience creating custom data views and reports to meet customer requirements.
  • Ability to work with clinical users to gather requirements on the fields required for the reports.
  • Proficiency in data modeling, database design.
  • Strong knowledge of data warehousing, data lakes, and cloud-based data platforms.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Familiarity with emerging trends in data archiving solutions.
  • Experience with stakeholder engagement and presentation of findings.
