Salary: ​ $29.87 - $38.82 per hour (based on 36.25 hr per week)

In addition to the regular wages and the additional pay in lieu of benefits and vacation, regular wage employees are entitled to shift premium pay:
$3.25 per hour for weekends and holidays
$2.75 per hour for evenings

In addition to regular wages, regular Wage employees receive 11.2% in lieu of benefits and vacation leave:
5.2 percent of regular wage earnings instead of paid holidays 
6 percent of regular wage earnings instead of annual vacation pay

We are hiring for the following Park Visitor Service position:
•    Business Operations Assistant – A position to supervise the delivery of Visitor Services at Kinbrook, Tillebrook, and Dinosaur Provincial Parks.

This Visitor Service position is located in the Brooks Dinosaur Area and is intended to support services in the three Parks mentioned above.

As part of the Visitor Service Program your duties will primarily be focused on providing leading customer service and visitor management solutions for the front line service team.

Key responsibilities for this position includes:

Staff Leadership 
•    Support the campground booth and information services program to ensure staff receive appropriate training for booth operations, reservations, and Occupational Health & Safety
•    Provide ongoing supervision and support to information, hospitality, and booth staff through regular check-ins, in person and digital communications, and provide timely follow up to the Visitor Services Supervisor 
•    Maintain communication with other program areas to ensure visitors’ needs and concerns are met, including collaborating with the Maintenance Services, Park Rangers, Visitor Experience, Caretaking, and other staff to achieve the best possible customer service available.

Education and Information Services related to Customer Service 
•    Respond to in-person and telephone/email requests for information on park and area amenities, services, recreational activities, and regulations/policies
•    Keep current on activities, opportunities, and conditions of trails, water, fishing, ect, to provide accurate information to visitors
•    Plan and deliver activities to support special events (such as Canada Day and Parks Day)

Administrative Duties
•    Manage all Business Operations revenue, including managing floats, complete daily cash-outs, bank deposits and revenue reconciliations
•    Assist with and provide support for seasonal recruitment processes
•    Assist with and provide support for staff housing (including paperwork, check-ins/outs, inspections and upkeep/repairs)

Budget Administration and Contract Management Support 
•    Develop expenditure projections and forecasts; track expenditures and revenues
•    Ensure prompt payment of invoices 
•    Plan ahead for replacement of equipment and furnishings, including life cycle costs and repairs
•    Meet with contractors; assist with contractor performance

In addition to the above general responsibilities, at Dinosaur Provincial Park, you will be responsible to assist with supervising the services provided out of the of Dinosaur Service Centre.  
The Service Centre consists of campground registration services, a full service café, showers and laundry facilities. The supervision of the services require close collaboration and communication with the maintenance team, food service provider, and visitor experience staff (Dinosaur tours and education team).

Qualifications

Education and Experience 

Program Services 1
•    Two year Diploma in a related field; no experience requires
•    Equivalency: Directly related education or experience based on one year of education for one year of experience or one year of experience for one year of education

Additional Requirements
•    Standard First Aid and CPR level C + AED is required 
•    Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
•    Current 5-year Driver’s Abstract with no more than 8 demerits (4 demerits for a GDL) 
•    Successful candidate requires a Criminal Record Check

Additional Assets to be successful in some of the roles
•    Experience in revenue reconciliations and/or accounting 
•    Extensive experience in customer service, managing customer service issues, and the ability to confidently defuse emotionally charged customer issue situations
•    Experience using ASPIRA and SiteDocs
•    Strong IT skills, basic knowledge of, and the ability to trouble shoot electronics and ensure the proper operation of the campground and booth WIFI services, telephone systems, printers, POS systems, Till Systems, and Radio communication systems
•    Experience in the Food Service and Hospitability Industries
•    Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Publisher, Outlook, TEAMS)
•    Current WHMIS is desirable and may be required
•    Knowledge of Dinosaur, Kinbrook Island, and Tillebrook Provincial Parks
•    Knowledge of local, regional, and provincial tourism opportunities
•    Knowledge in the retail industry and / or hospitality industry 
•    Great verbal and written communication skills combined with the ability to problem solve and work well with others

Notes

Terms of Employment:
•    This is a full time seasonal position for up to 36.25 hours per week for the term of : April – mid/end October.
•    You may be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays; shift pay is available.
•    Successful candidates will be required to complete mandatory Government of Alberta training courses. 
•    Onsite rental accommodations may be available.
