Role Overview

The Sustainability Manager is an integral member of a highly collaborative team, working towards QuadReal’s mandate to be a global sustainability leader. This position will support the sustainability strategy in its four key areas: efficiency, engagement, health, and innovation. The Sustainability Manager will work closely with the VP Sustainability on program development and provide support to QuadReal properties with the implementation of sustainability programs. This individual will be highly motivated with a passion for sustainability and influencing social and environmental issues.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of new sustainability programs, from tenant engagement, energy efficiency training for employees, health & wellbeing, etc.

  • Support the implementation of programs across the portfolio and their continual adaptation to ensure they work well in each building type, from office to open-air retail and multi-residential.

  • Help with project management and the evaluations of innovation projects run by regional technical leads.

  • Help build, assist, and run training sessions on a broad range of topics to employees.

  • Collect feedback from property teams on programs and tools and how they can be designed to offer more value and align with their core job duties.

  • In collaboration with the Sustainability Analysts, lead the reporting initiatives for GRI, GRESB, UNPRI and SASB

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Five years’ related experience implementing and managing corporate sustainability programs, preferably in a mix of public, private and NGO roles

  • Masters’ degree in an environmental or relevant discipline is preferred

  • Natural communicator with the confidence to voice opinions and understand different perspectives and points of view

  • Ability to turn big-picture ideas into practical and realistic actions and project plans

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Ability to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships and adapt to different communication styles

  • Basic digital design experience / competence highly preferred

  • Bilingualism is considered an asset
