Agilus is recruiting for a Health & Safety Coordinator in the construction industry in Windsor, Ontario. The Health and Safety Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of all employees, subcontractors, and visitors on construction sites. Working closely with the Project Management team, the Health and Safety Coordinator will implement and enforce safety protocols, ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulations, and foster a culture of safety. A typical day: Develop, implement, and enforce the company’s Health and Safety Program. Conduct regular site audits and inspections to identify and mitigate risks. Provide safety orientation and training for new employees and subcontractors. Coordinate ongoing safety training programs and toolbox talks. Maintain training records and ensure certifications are up to date. Respond to and investigate workplace accidents, injuries, and near misses. Prepare detailed incident reports and recommend corrective actions. Conduct job hazard analyses (JHAs) and recommend safety controls. Maintain accurate records of inspections, training, incidents, and corrective actions. Generate weekly and monthly safety reports for management review. Serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related matters on-site. Promote a positive safety culture by engaging with workers and addressing concerns proactively. Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure their adherence to safety protocols. Successful candidates will have: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or a related field preferred. Certified Safety Professional (CSP), OSHA 30-Hour Certification, or equivalent required. Minimum 3 years of experience in construction safety, preferably with a general contractor. Familiarity with high-risk activities such as scaffolding, heavy equipment, confined spaces, and fall protection. Strong understanding of OSHA standards and construction safety best practices. Excellent communication and leadership skills. What's in it for you: Hourly pay Preferred rates for benefit coverage available 6 month contract opportunity
