Curriculum and Career Education Division and Divisional Performance Branch
 

Within the Ministry of Education, the Curriculum and Career Education Division provides strategic leadership in establishing provincial standards and guidelines for curriculum for all subjects and grades Kindergarten to Grade 12. As part of the ministry’s ongoing focus on student learning, the division reviews, revises and maintains provincial programs of study and learning and teaching resources in English and French, and ensures First Nations, Métis and Inuit perspectives and experiences are integrated into K-12 curriculum. The Divisional Performance Branch supports the Curriculum and Career Education Division through various corporate-level services including financial oversight and reporting, operational planning and reporting, contract and grant administration, coordination of the departmental Interchange Program and other business administration activities. This team serves as the coordination center for the Division with partners across the department including Finance, Human Resources, Facilities, and Corporate Planning and Reporting.

Reporting to the Interchange and Operations Consultant, the Divisional Performance Coordinator provides administrative support and assistance to the Divisional Performance Branch within the Curriculum and Career Education Division. This includes administrative responsibilities related to the department’s Interchange Program, division financial administration processes, as well as functions that support the division and department mandates.
 

This position requires considerable contact with multiple parties to coordinate and complete requirements. This position performs at the para-professional level providing overflow support to the Divisional Performance team in the execution of contractual responsibilities and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
 

The Divisional Performance Coordinator supports the administration of the Ministry Interchange Program by:

  • Supporting the annual interchange callout process, including reviewing and posting interchange opportunities on-line, and compiling/distributing submitted resumes to divisions for review and selection.
  • Managing and facilitating communications between the ministry and home organizations related to interchange agreements (including notifications of interchange postings, amendments, and terminations).
  • Supporting all administrative aspects of interchange contracts including contract creation and communication with all parties to facilitate contract execution.
  • Assisting in the development, coordination, and execution of annual onboarding events.
  • Maintaining the Education Interchange Program intranet site.
     

The Divisional Performance Coordinator supports the Curriculum and Career Education Division financial administration tasks including:

  • Supporting branches with monthly budget and forecasting tasks.
  • Reconciling expenditures and supporting the division monthly cashflow submission.
  • Reporting on financial expenditures.
     

The Divisional Performance Coordinator supports the day-to-day operations of Curriculum and Career Education Division by performing a range of administrative functions including, but not limited to facility and accommodations requests; records management; and information technology requests and purchasing.
 

The Divisional Performance Coordinator also collaborates with other administrative support staff in the division and department to develop and consistently apply administrative processes that promote effective operations of the division and department.

Qualifications

High school diploma and three years of related experience.
 

Equivalency:
Directly related experience or education considered on the basis of:

  • 1 year of experience for 1 year of education or
  • 1 year of education for 1 year of experience.
     

The following knowledge or experiences will be considered as assets:

  • 4 years of relevant experience in a government administrative role with responsibility for financial processes, contract, and grant administration, and/or supporting recruitment activities.
  • Strong proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Outlook), and Adobe Professional products.
  • Experience in statistical and financial data collection and reporting.
  • Experience with development of procedures, communications, and training materials with internal and external stakeholder engagement.

Position Information:
 

  • This is a full-time permanent position working 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
  • Working location is 44 Capital Boulevard, 10044 -108 St. NW, Edmonton.
