Your Opportunity
In this position as a CAD Technologist, you will have the opportunity to work as part of a team of engineers and technologists on multiple projects for a range of public and private sector clients. This is a great opportunity for a motivated, energetic individual who wants to challenge their abilities in a dynamic work environment and learn new skills.
Your Key Responsibilities
Use Autodesk AutoCAD Civil3D and other tools to complete drafting of construction drawings, site plans, figures and other product deliverables.
Support design staff in the geometric design of roadways, utility networks, and site grading.
Support design staff in the design of sanitary, storm, water, and irrigation pipe networks.
Work in a collaborative team environment with project managers, engineers, design staff, and construction staff.
Use knowledge of tools and drafting to complete assigned tasks including 2D and 3D model development, completing design changes redlining, plotting, and drafting using Autodesk AutoCAD Civil3D.
Prepare drawings, sketches and notes for projects, and redlines and plans for submittal.
Assist in resolution of technical issues on construction sites.
Perform preliminary quality control of construction documents and provide design ideas and solutions.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Ability to work successfully with others on large complex projects.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil3D to prepare drawings and figures.
Working knowledge of codes and design requirements.
Eager to develop skills and participate in continuous learning discussions as a team.
Detail oriented and takes pride in your work.
Diligently follows through on commitments and consistently complete assignments by deadlines.
Strong organizational skills, along with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and demonstrate a flexible approach to work assignments.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Education and Experience
Graduate of Engineering Design and Drafting Diploma program or equivalent.
Proficient in Bluebeam Revu or Adobe.
Minimum of 5 years of experience.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Stantec is proud to offer a hybrid work environment and there may be opportunity to work in our local office and remotely from your home office. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
