Your Opportunity

We currently have an opening for a Civil Engineering student in our Whitehorse, YT office. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting data collection and analysis, surveying, field reviews during construction, and design / drafting assistance in our Civil Engineering group, along with some support work with our multi-disciplinary projects. The successful candidate will receive a very broad range of experiences by supporting more than one team.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Fulfilling health and safety requirements

  • Providing logistical support for reporting and field work

  • Data entry/administration

  • Field work to observe construction

  • Design and drafting for water, wastewater and transportation infrastructure projects

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Eager to learn with a desire to take initiative

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, responsibilities, and projects and adjust to changing demands

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Adaptability, organization, critical thinking, self-motivation, a keen willingness to learn, a love of the outdoors, wilderness and travel experience, attention to detail, succinct writing ability, and ability to multitask

  • Flexibility to travel and work beyond regular business hours

  • Strong MS Office Suite skills, a clean driver’s license and vehicle are required

  • Additional skills such as current First Aid training is an asset but is not required

Education and Experience

  • The successful candidate must be currently enrolled in an accredited university degree program in Civil or Environmental Engineering and be available to work starting in May 2025 for at least a 4-month work term.

Typical office environment working with computers. Field work included may be long days (12 hours), in challenging remote locations, last minute schedule changes, and exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Ability to lift and move items and equipment up to 50 lbs.
