Your Opportunity

In this position as a Electrical Engineering Technician / Technologist, you will have the opportunity to work as part of a team of engineers and technologists on multiple projects for a range of public and private sector clients. This is a great opportunity for a motivated, energetic individual who wants to challenge their abilities in a dynamic work environment.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Working as part of a power team, this work will involve the power system study, design, drafting, construction and commissioning services for industrial electrical systems including power distribution, standby power, motor controls, with focus on short circuit, protective devices coordination, arc flash, and grounding analysis..

  • Follow production guidelines and project standards in the department drafting standards manual.

  • Providing CAD drafting and design assistance for a wide variety of projects, from report stage through design and construction administration.

  • Assisting in resolution of technical issues on construction sites.

  • You will be expected to support team operations and play an integral part in the promotion of our health and safety culture.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Understanding of regional and local electrical and building codes

  • Thorough understanding of CAD Standards

  • Takes initiative on tasks and in coordinating with other members of the team.

  • Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite.

  • Working knowledge of software programs including SKM, ETAP, EasyPower, SES, CDEGS, CYME, AutoCAD, and Adobe Acrobat.

  • Working knowledge of basic calculations.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Able to work under and meet tight deadlines.

  • Ability to solve problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation

  • Eager to learn with strong listening and critical thinking and problem solving skills

Education and Experience

  • Associate's degree or technical school diploma/certificate in a related program with a minimum of 2-3 years of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.

Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require some field work.

Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):

Salary Range(s):

  • Lower Mainland $60,200 - Lower Mainland $84,300 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in BC (Lower Mainland includes Vancouver & Burnaby)

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
