Your Opportunity

In this position you will have the opportunity to provide support for successful operations of the business by supporting the business center’s financials, as well as supporting project financials for a variety of transportation projects through conformance to Stantec’s ISO requirements, corporate policies, project management framework, and client requirements and standards.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Support with document control including pertinent internal and external communication backup documentation, record keeping and document tracking

  • Lead timely project forecasting, invoicing, and payables

  • Overall support of project financial health including cost forecasting, scope change requests & change management, budget monitoring and support of project schedule to project managers

  • Assist the project managers with regular project health checks and status reporting, invoicing, provision control, and contract management

  • Review and analyze project expenditures and work with team and management to find costs savings and improve efficiencies

  • Respond to team and client requests for financial forecasting information

  • Coordinate and attend internal and external team meetings and keep detailed meeting minutes

  • Provide general team / office support as required, including facilitating IT requests, timecard, and expenses support

  • Assist leaders with team resourcing and workload management / forecasting

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Prior work in documentation control / financial services / project assistant and project controls role is a plus

  • Business analysis and strong financial analysis background is an asset

  • Strong listening, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills

  • Good time management skills and ability to handle multiple priorities and assignments

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Eager to learn, resourceful and a “team player approach”

  • Demonstrate initiative with attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong work ethic and interpersonal skills

  • Must be able to successfully work both collaboratively and independently

  • Experienced and savvy with Adobe Acrobat Pro, MS Outlook, MS Teams, MS Office 365 including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, and Access

Education and Experience

  • Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience

  • Experience working in transportation, engineering, and/or consulting field is preferred

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time

Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):

Salary Range(s):

  • Lower Mainland $76,500/BC Other Areas $72,200 - Lower Mainland $110,900/BC Other Areas $104,600 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in BC (Lower Mainland includes Vancouver & Burnaby)

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
