Join one of the world’s leading retail organizations as a dynamic and results-driven Tax Manager! We're looking for an accomplished professional with deep expertise in income tax to bring their skills to a fast-paced, high-impact team.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare quarterly income tax provisions for the organization and its associated entities, including year-end journal entries.
  • Handle the preparation and audit of withholding tax remittances.
  • Draft and file annual corporate tax returns for the organization and its affiliated entities in Canada.
  • Communicate with the CRA and Revenue Quebec regarding income tax audits.
  • Compile unaudited financial statements for the organization and its related entities.
  • Support the head office with audits by preparing necessary workbooks and tax-related notes for financial statements.
  • Prepare T4A-NR, RL-1, and NR4 tax slips.
  • Review intercompany journal entries for related entities.
  • Develop provision-to-return workbooks and associated journal entries.
  • Calculate and submit monthly income tax installments for all entities.
  • Create quarterly workbooks to monitor intercompany transactions.
  • Reconcile all income tax accounts for the organization and affiliated entities.
  • Verify the accuracy of GST/HST, QST, and PST applied to sales items.
  • Oversee the remittance process for GST/HST, QST, and PST.
  • Collect information on special transactions and provide recommendations for sales tax compliance.
  • Stay updated on legislative changes regarding income, sales, and excise taxes and inform the team about their business impact.
  • Conduct or oversee internal audit compliance reviews.
  • Update training materials for internal use and share them on the intranet.
  • Address income tax-related inquiries from warehouses, accounting, purchasing teams, and vendors.
  • Offer recommendations on system application adjustments to align with legislative requirements.
  • Undertake additional tasks or projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • University degree in an accounting-related field is required.
  • Accounting professional designation (CPA) is required.
  • A minimum of five years of tax experience is required.
  • Bilingualism, written and spoken (French/English) is an asset
  • Excellent knowledge of business software applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Database Management) is required. Candidates may be tested.
  • Knowledge of SAP and Vertex is an asset.
  • Strong leadership skills
