The Data Governance Change Management Specialist will lead and manage organizational change initiatives to ensure smooth transitions and alignment with the company’s strategic goals related to data governance. This role involves crafting and executing change management strategies, engaging stakeholders, and driving successful adoption of data governance policies, processes, and best practices. The Specialist will focus on enhancing data quality, compliance, and security while minimizing resistance across departments.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Change Strategy Development
  • Design and implement comprehensive change management strategies to maximize employee adoption and minimize resistance for data governance initiatives.
  • Execution of Change Initiatives
  • Develop and roll out tailored change management plans for data governance projects.
  • Assess the organizational and stakeholder impact of data governance changes, identifying and mitigating potential challenges.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to gain buy-in and support.
  • Communicate effectively to ensure all stakeholders are informed, involved, and aligned with project objectives.
  • Communication Planning
  • Develop and implement a communication strategy to maintain transparency and clarity throughout the change process.
  • Training and Enablement
  • Identify training needs and create relevant programs to prepare employees for changes.
  • Deliver training sessions and ensure training materials are effective and accessible.
  • Resistance Management
  • Proactively identify and address potential resistance to change.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather feedback, resolve concerns, and foster engagement.
  • Monitoring and Reporting
  • Track the effectiveness of change management efforts through feedback and performance metrics.
  • Adjust strategies based on insights to improve outcomes.

 

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Experience:
  • 10–15 years in change management, organizational development, or related roles.
  • 3–5 years specializing in change management within data governance contexts.
  • Expertise:
  • Strong knowledge of change management methodologies (e.g., Prosci, ADKAR).
  • Proven ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels, including executives.

 

Skills:

  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and techniques.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

 

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Familiarity with the retail domain.
  • In-depth understanding of the data lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of data processes and data governance principles.
