Your Opportunity
Stantec is currently seeking a Structural CAD/Revit Technologist to complement our growing team in our Markham office. This position offers potential for growth in the areas of both technical and professional development and is an exciting opportunity to join a multi-disciplinary engineering team and work on interesting and complex projects of all scales and market sectors.
Key member of a structural team in a multi-disciplinary setting, tasked with the creation of structural models and drawings and preparation of contract documents. The individual will work closely with structural engineers and designers to conceptualize, develop, and document structural designs for buildings and buildings-related infrastructure.
Your Key Responsibilities
Independent production of structural drawings from engineers' notes and sketches, architectural drawings, engineering schematics, and maintaining corporate drafting standards
Coordinates with architects and other engineering disciplines for multi-disciplinary projects
Creates Revit models for new and existing building structures
Develops AutoCAD drawings for new and existing building structures
Involved in Revit content management, including editing and developing new templates and families
Participates in the maintenance and updating of Revit models during construction
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Knowledgeable in fundamentals of structural drafting, detailing and industry-accepted drafting standards
Proficient knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD required
Working proficiency with Microsoft Excel
Attention to detail and strong communication skills
Comfortable work independently and within a team
Able to work efficiently and coordinate with remote delivery teams
Other experience that would be an asset:
Importing/exporting Revit models to/from structural analysis software
BIM360, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or other BIM management collaboration environments
Microstation
Field investigation during design and field review during construction
Education and Experience
Technical diploma from an accredited college with an emphasis on civil/structural engineering technology
Minimum 2 years of experience in structural drawing production for new buildings and renovations/retrofits within the Architectural/Engineering consulting industries
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
