Your Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a presentation coach supporting Stantec’s client development programs. Reporting to the Client Development Team, as the Presentation and Pursuit Team Coach you will play a crucial role in helping our teams win.

As a performance coach (strategist), you will collaborate with pursuit teams of engineers, project managers, and technical specialists to elevate their presentation skills. Your goal is to enable them to deliver compelling, engaging, and informative presentations that resonate with diverse client audiences.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute and advise the pursuit team in developing winning strategies and tactics.

  • Lead the pursuit process and preparation of the pursuit team for all presentations related to the pursuit.

  • Conduct initial assessments to understand the specific needs and challenges faced by pursuit teams of engineers and technical professionals that are preparing to present to clients.

  • Develop personalized coaching plans tailored to individual members of the pursuit team and the entire pursuit team. or teams.

  • Assist pursuit teams in structuring their presentations effectively.

  • Coach to techniques for creating clear, concise, and impactful content.

  • Coach to strategies that engage diverse audiences.

  • Strategize techniques for handling questions, managing interruptions, and maintaining audience interest.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials:

  • Proven experience winning large project pursuits is a must.

  • Experience within AEC is a must.

  • Experience with coaching a team in a competitive large commercial environment.

  • Proven ability to effectively work with diverse audiences and adapting coaching methodologies to individual needs and circumstances.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including executive communications.

  • Strong business acumen and experience.

  • As it pertains to winning project pursuits, the ability to positively influence behavioral change through strategic partnership development, coaching, and mentoring.

  • Problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.

  • Collaborative and cross-functional engagement.

  • Organization and team coordination.

Education and Experience:

  • Post-secondary degree in business or an equivalent level of experience.

  • AEC industry experience is required.

  • Minimum of 15 years in complex strategic business leadership.

  • Must have experience leading and winning large project pursuits.

  • International Coaching Federation (ICF) certification or equivalent is an asset.

  • Previous experience as a team presentation coach, public speaking coach, or communication specialist is preferred.

  • Demonstrated significant pursuit wins as a coach.

  • Minimum5 years of experience coaching and providing strategic support to pursuit process stakeholders

  • Domestic and international travel required; up to 75%.

  • Ability to work remotely and independently.

Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):

Salary Range(s):

  • Lower Mainland $118,500 / Other BC Areas $111,800 - Lower Mainland $183,700 / Other BC Areas $173,300 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in BC (Lower Mainland includes Vancouver & Burnaby)

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
