Your Opportunity
In the Engineering job family, Stantec is seeking a motivated Civil Engineering Technologist/Technician to contribute with a team on the design and delivery of land development projects for our clients. These rewarding projects will provide the individual an opportunity to learn and expand their engineering skills. The Edmonton office provides comprehensive planning, design, and engineering services for all phases of municipal and industrial projects, including land development, water, wastewater, drainage, transportation, and related civil projects. With a unique multidisciplinary team approach, we’re equipped with state-of-the-art survey tools, simulation models, specialized design software, and computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) facilities.
Your Key Responsibilities
Use Autodesk AutoCAD Civil3D and other tools to complete drafting of construction drawings, figures and other product deliverables.
Assist designer in the geometric design of roadways, utility networks, and site grading.
Assist designer in the design of surface, sanitary, storm and water pipe networks.
Prepare plan/ profile drawings in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Work in a collaborative team environment with project managers, engineers, designers, and construction staff.
Work in a field environment as needed.
Uses knowledge of tools and drafting to complete assigned tasks including completing design markups, redlines, plotting, and drafting using AutoCAD Civil3D.
Creating plan of record drawings from mark-ups from Field as-builts.
Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
Prepare drawings, sketches and notes for projects, and redlines and plans for submittal.
Performs quality control of construction drawings for peers & oneself.
Provides design and drafting ideas and solutions
Ensuring that the projects are completed in a timely and effective manner.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Ability to work with others on large complex projects.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil3D to prepare drawings and figures.
Working knowledge of codes and design requirements.
Able to work under and meet tight deadlines.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities, and take direction as required.
Eager to learn new skills and participate in discussions as a team.
Detail oriented and take pride in your work.
Diligently follows through on commitments and consistently complete assignments by deadlines.
Strong organizational skills, along with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and demonstrate a flexible approach to work assignments.
Strong communication skills and willing to collaborate with multiple teams/ team members
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in Bluebeam Revu or Adobe and Microsoft Suite.
Education and Experience
Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 1 years of experience.
Position will primarily work in an office setting; however, this position may require occasional field work depending on the season.
