Roles and Responsibilities

  • Perform daily ticket resolution and troubleshooting for network-related issues.
  • Support, develop, and maintain enterprise-level network systems, ensuring high availability and reliability.
  • Configure, maintain, and manage multi-vendor network equipment, including Cisco and Fortinet devices.
  • Provide DNS configuration and management support.
  • Implement and troubleshoot LAN switching technologies in an enterprise environment.
  • Collaborate with IT services teams and other departments to provide cross-functional network support.
  • Serve as the sole Network Administrator, reporting directly to Fernand, while supporting collaborative efforts across departments.
  • Support network operations for the Thunder Bay and Orillia campuses.

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven expertise in network troubleshooting and system reliability.
  • Experience configuring and managing Cisco and Fortinet network equipment.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise LAN switching technologies.
  • Proficiency in DNS configuration and management.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaborative abilities.

 
Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

 

Nice-to-Haves

  • Certifications such as Cisco CCNA, Fortinet NSE, or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with network operations in multi-campus environments.
